The coolest part? They’ve traveled to 13 different countries to do it!
As of a few days ago, Mr. Alex Pelling and Ms. Lisa Grant were in Argentina, getting ready for their next wedding (to take place at midnight, and tango-themed). Since July 2011, they’ve been travelling all over the world, gettin’ hitched and writing about it. Though none of the marriages so far have been legal, they’re planning on returning to their favorite location of all (wherever it turns out to be) and officially tying the knot there. Until then, it’s all for adventure!
This sounds insane to most people. The cost! The uprooted-ness! But as I said to my bug-eyed boyfriend, I find it to be a really sweet idea. I think everyone has probably fantasized about having a wedding in a different country, especially if it’s based in that country’s native culture. So why not experience as many of those kinds of weddings as you can? Both the bride and groom have quit their jobs, and have decided to rent a camper van (pictured above) in order to reduce overall costs. Their weddings aren’t super-fancy (Lisa uses the same dress every time, and only when she needs a long white gown), and all their wedding gifts go to charity. Which makes me think that they can probably afford this extensive traveling by themselves. Hence we should probably lay off of them.
One thing’s for sure, though: Grant and Pelling aren’t going to stop having weddings anytime soon. Having come so close to their goal of thirty weddings in one year, they’ve decided to keep on getting hitched until 2014. I’m just hoping they keep on taking more beautiful wedding portraits!

What do you think of these two getting married so many times? Would you ever consider a destination wedding?

It sounds like an amazing fun time. If I had the cash, I would totally do it.

If I had the means to do this, I would, as well. I mean, can you imagine telling your grandkids you got married all over the world? It sounds so fun and romantic.

That looks like so much fun!

That is something super awesome, and creative. They will remember it forever!

Love the idea. If I had the money I’d totally do it, or I’d renew my vows every 5 years at a different vacation spot.

Um…why not just get legally married first? Then it’s all legit. Weird.
