Singer Janelle Monae, who is best-known for her single “Tightrope,” has been announced as the new face of CoverGirl! And the first glamorous shot for her campaign has been released. Check it out and let us know what you think!

I absolutely adore both Monae and this shot. She’s going to make for a great Cover Girl! I’ve also noticed that the supremely talented singer has somewhat fallen out of the spotlight lately, so it will be awesome for her to get some additional publicity.

Monae’s first ad for the company debuts (Where else?) in the September 2012 issue of Vogue. Janelle joins the ranks of past Cover Girls like Taylor Swift, Sofia Vergara and Drew Barrymore. Congrats to her! [via The Daily Mail]
