Everyone had speculations when it was announced that Azealia Banks’ upcoming cover for Dazed & Confused was going to be banned in seven countries. She has what in her mouth? How racy is it, really? Will American stores cover the issue up?
Now the magazine has been released, and it’s about what everyone expected. On it, Banks is blowing up an…interesting choice of devices, and you can finally see the controversial cover by clicking here!
We see levels of nudity on the covers of magazines every day…yet this photo of a fully-clothed woman goofing around with a safe sex object is getting covered up. It sounds kind of silly to me, but I imagine that in 20 years a cover like this will be no big deal. But, hey,now both Azealia and Dazed and Confused are getting tons of publicity, which certainly can’t hurt! [via High Snobiety]
What do you think of this cover? Should it have been banned?

Well, it is not the classiest magazine cover I’ve seen but I don’t think it should be banned. The writers should be able to express how they feel. But either way, I’m sure some people would appreciate not having to see that picture of a blown-up condom while waiting to check out in the supermarket. I guess it can’t be worse than Left Eye of TLC putting a condom on the left side of her glasses.

I’d prefer this magazine staring me down while I wait in the checkout line as opposed to, well, anything relating to Glee, Kim Kardashian, or that magazine cover where pregnant Jessica SImpson was nude on the cover. THAT bothered me more than this.

im personally not offended, but i could definately see why a lot of people would be ..

people, especially women, are not supposed to have sex. we’ve got to keep it a secret. SSSHHHHH. how could they? the children. think about the children.

i like it. blowing up condoms are fun

this > anything involving a Kardashian.

it doesn’t offend me, but it’s very tacky and distasteful (pretty much like every other celebrity-esque magazine in the world)

It epitomises our current Western society.

I wish more people would be exposed to condoms.

I think it’s sort of tacky…in a boring, flat way. Idk, I wouldn’t feel like buying it, but I don’t think it should be censored.
If that’s what they choose to put on it…well, ok.
