There’s nothing more collegiate than a nice, shiny apple. They represent the time of year students gather once again to ripen their minds and plant the seeds of a more knowledgeable future. They also represent sucking up to our teachers, and for good reason — apples are delicious. Here are four apple-based treats you’ll want to keep all for yourself.

1. Apple Chips

These days, it seems like they make chips out of everything potatoes, tortillas, pita bread, anything! But I never would have considered apples to be one of them. Still, you can’t get much better than crispy baked apples covered in cinnamon. (Yup   it’s as simple as that.)

2. Apple Dumplings

You don’t even have to slice the apple for this recipe. I’m still fuzzy on the details, but somehow covering a whole apple with spices and dough and baking it (and then covering it with ice cream) makes it magically delicious. I don’t get it, but tastebuds don’t lie. These dumplings are heavenly.

3. Apple Butter

Just like chips, butter can be made out of just about anything! Peanut butter, almond butter, sunflower seed butter, there’s so many options! And, yes, of course, apple butter is a thing, apparently. A very easy thing, that tastes like rainbows and butterflies and pixie dust. It’s also great on toast.

4. Apple Pie…in an Apple

This. Is. Brilliant. It’s apple pie, in an apple! It’s a baby pie in a shell of sweet deliciousness! Seriously, just set one of these down on your prof’s desk, and it’ll be smooth sailing this semester.
