No movie villain or Hollywood psychopath is complete without a perfect maniacal laugh. Some evil characters are even identified by their super-scary chuckles. Last week, YouTube user James Chapman posted his compilation of the 100 Greatest Maniacal Laughs in movie history, and it is hilarious.

I honestly can’t imagine how long it took to find every single one of these clips, but the end result is so funny, it’s almost hypnotic. I think my favorite part is the multiple Nicolas Cage clips all in a row. (I had to pause the video at that point, I was laughing so hard.) It’s crazy how many interpretations there are of the typical “evil laugh,” and crazier still how many are exactly like the stereotype.
