Another added perk of my RA job this summer: when processing mail, I get to keep any and all magazines of residents that have moved out and didn’t change their address. This has given me the chance to sample nearly any magazine on the market, and I feel like I have come across the holy grail of all fashion magazines. People puts out a monthly ‘Style Watch’ magazine and it is awesome!

I received the September issue in the mail on Friday and I have been avidly reading it cover to cover ever since. For one, the magazine is thick! This could be because it is a September issue, but it’s jam packed with both ads, fragrance samples, and articles which all seem to appeal to me.

The object of this magazine is to take celebrity style tips and make them accessible to the everyday woman. While some of the pieces featured are just a little bit out of a college student’s price range, I am obsessed with their take on how they update some of my favorite celeb fashions.

Articles ranging from quizzes highlighting what kind of shopper you are, the fan favorite ‘who wore it better,’ Style Watch combines numerous different elements to make it your go to magazine for all things fashion. My personal favorite was the ‘who got it right’ highlight which showed why celebs looked good in certain hairstyles/outfits. I like that this highlighted the reason why these styles looked good or not on that particular person. Sometimes no matter how much you love a style, it just may not look good on you. As heartbreaking as that is to accept, even celebrities commit these fashion blunders. You are not alone!

In attempts not to ruin the issue for anyone, this month has great tips on updating your wardrobe for fall. I plan to go school shopping next week so it’s particularly handy to know which styles and colors are in before I try to play my usual ‘have I seen this in all the stores’ game which I usually do. Often that game can get a bit difficult since I’m usually terrible at knowing trends beforehand. This magazine eliminates that issue in an easy to read fun fashion.
