Rumor has it that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is not so friendly with his The Dark Knight Rises co-star Anne Hathaway. Although the two are seen pictured together looking happy, we do have to keep in mind they are both actors… Check out what Levitt had to say about Hathaway and decide for yourself.
According to insiders, Levitt has had less than kind words to say about the lovely Hathaway, thinking she has too big an ego for the caliber of work she does. One insider notes:
“He thinks she’s a good actress, but he just doesn’t understand her ego. Also, Anne was very dismissive of Joseph early in her career. She even turned down a couple of jobs where she was supposed to act opposite him. He wanted to make fun of how seriously Anne was taking herself and the role. He was too polite to point out to her that she was playing a cat in a comic-book movie, not actually saving the world.”
Are there truth to these allegations? Nobody can be quite sure since neither have been quoted saying anything negative about the other, and the pictures seem to point in the opposite direction. Plus, this is only an insider report, which there seem to be quite a few of that have no truth to the matter.
Then again, I feel like this behavior is almost expected from Hathaway. While she has had some great roles and has continued to progress in her career, I don’t see the amazing talent most people see. I’m sure I’ll get a lot of backlash, she just isn’t one of my favorite actresses and she seems a little bit like a diva. That could just be my opinion, but then again who isn’t a little bit of a diva sometimes?
Whether they love each other or hate each other, the main factor is that Levitt & Hathaway have not given the public a reason to really believe they have a distinct feud happening. And in Hollywood, keeping your private life private is probably the most important rules of the game.
Lovelies, what do you think of the allegations that Levitt & Hathaway hate each other? Do you like both of these actors?

I don’t know them personally so I can’t say that I think Hathaway is a diva. I don’t know her like that.

What a novel idea, journalists trying to make a quick buck off of rumors!

cat woman is a villain, so she isn’t suppose to save the world, but destroy the world
she is too goofy looking to play a seductive and evil villain. michelle pfeiffer was a more ideal catwoman.

I never outrightly trust a note from “an insider” or “a source close to the actor/actress”.

@QuantumStorm@xanga - i hardly call Lovelyish writers “journalists”

@shes_lump@xanga - I was meaning that in a more general sense, haha

I don’t know I don’t quite buy it. Hathway started out with the Princess’ Diaries….why would a women who started her career with disney criticize another actor’s early career?

Did you not go to middle/high school..? Even your best friends at the time probably talked shit about you (I know a LOT of girls who used to talk shit about their “best friends”.. it’s pathetic). He probably said it.

@MK_A_Chick@xanga - “Yepp, I’m his biggest fan! I, like, know him sooo well!! What, you want some rumors? Oh, I can give you the dirt!!”
-That’s always how I see the “insider” or “close friend”. Lol.

I always thought of cat woman as a sort of chaotic neutral. Also I’ve really enjoyed a lot of Ann Hathaway’s work. If she is as stunning in Les Miserables as she is in her other work *although I imagine she will be even more amazing* I think that maybe if this alleged ego is a thing, she probably deserves it.

i love anne hathaway, and i’ve never been a closed-minded person, but the thought hasn’t crossed my mind of her acting like a diva. i do know that she takes her roles very seriously, since she pulls each off perfectly. i’ve also noticed that she’s done a lot more “mature” and sex/drug type movies recently, so maybe that’s just her telling everyone not to under estimate her abilities as an actress, and somehow it’s coming off as diva-ish

As long as there is no “Jersey Shore” bullshit in public. That’s two professional adults for you.

*shrugs* I don’t think someone has a big ego because she takes her job very seriously. Perhaps she does bc she doesn’t want to fail.
My feeling tells me that if she turns down jobs just to not have to work with him, he is sort of ‘pulling the strings’ in a way, meaning he must be pretty unbearable for her, so perhaps he’s an asshole.
I can imagine that more than her being a bitch but maybe his self sufficient grin and her looking like her in the picture is misleading, who can really say.
Probably they just can’t stand each others personality.

Actors talk shit about each other. It just happens. Normal people look at it like it’s this humongous deal, but you gotta think about it this way: these are all freelance employees looking for the same types of jobs. Finite numbers of jobs, by the way. So, when someone’s ego gets in the way, things will be said. It just happens.

beyonce is a diva, anne hathaway is not

Who cares.

Sounds more like jesting if the “inside source” can be trusted. “Chill, don’t take yourself so seriously”. Though frankly this matters not much at all.

I think it’s pretty funny that they’d quote JGL as thinking Anne didn’t like him because she turned down roles opposite him. I’m SURE the reason she didn’t want the roles was STRICTLY because of him. Not anything to do with a poor script/plot development/characters or anything.

I’ll be honest. Anything I see from the author of this post I refuse to do anything but file away as ‘crap no one cares about’. I’ve seen her under another name on another site, and tbf I think most of this crap is thought up and there’s no actual fact to any of it.
