Babies, y’all. It seems like tons of my girlfriends are expecting or have already given birth this year. Alright, by “tons” I mean “four” but this has budded an adequate amount of pregnancy talk and baby-mania, seeing as how there was zero discussion beforehand. And what comes hand-in-hand with pregnancy? Maternity pictures! It’s a packaged deal! Those photos on your Facebook feed with the hands making a heart shape over the belly are pretty generic compared to the awkward maternity poses floating around the web. With each of my friends’ news of the baby infiltration, I’m experiencing a bit of an odd enjoyment because I’m happy for them but also extremely scared of babies. They’re like alien-beings, incubating in sacs of raspberry jam-like fluids! I can’t help but simultaneously care for them while backing away with disillusion. What is wrong with me? Is this normal?
