As little girls, I’m sure many of you Lovelies adored Disney’s princesses. While Pocahontas was my ultimate favorite Disney movie, I spent a good portion of my childhood watching my collection of VHS tapes featuring Ariel, Belle and Snow White. As a kid, I thought the princesses were brave, smart and absolutely gorgeous. I wanted to be just like them!
Unfortunately, in the past my time spent imitating a Disney princess was limited to Halloween. Now, though, I can use my ever-expanding makeup collection to create a more grown-up princess look. I love experimenting with hair and makeup, and these tips allow me to do just that, with the inspiration of my favorite childhood movie characters. For example, take a look at the girl in the above photo, whose makeup was clearly inspired by the lovely Snow White. In my opinion, with a little less blush this look would be great for everyday wear, and is still clearly influenced by the timeless princess.
To do your own Snow White makeup, start with a clear complexion by utilizing foundation (and concealer, if necessary). If you have it, apply a light concealer or highlighter to the areas under the eyebrows, the bridge of the nose, underneath each eye, and on the chin. For the eyes, first apply a white shadow on the inner corner of the eyelids and the outer sections of the eyes underneath the eyebrows. Use a gray shadow on the lower parts of the eyelids, and brush some light brown into the creases. Line your eyes with charcoal eyeliner, making the line a bit thicker in the center in order to make eyes appear more round. Don’t forget mascara! Dust some pink blush on the cheeks, and finish off the look with red lipstick. For an extra touch, add a small red ribbon in your hair.

What do you Lovelies think of these looks? Would you try any of them?
Cinderella: Blue is this princess’ signature color, and that’s the hue you’ll use for your eyes. Use a shimmery blue shadow on the lower part of the eyelids, and a blue-gray shade on the outer corners of the eyes. Apply a shimmery white shadow into the corner of each eye, blending it out towards the center of the eyelid. Line the eyes with charcoal eyeliner, using a silver pencil for the inside of the eyes. Use light pink blush on the apples of your cheeks, and finish the look with pink lipstick or gloss. Time for the ball!
Belle: For this look, you’ll use a great deal of earth tones. Apply a beige color to the upper and lower eyelids, then use a wine or dark purple color on the outer corners and creases of the eyelids. To highlight the eyes, apply a light brown color just underneath the arches of the eyebrows, then blend it in with the other colors on the lower eyelids and into the outer corners of the eye. Line the eyes with black eyeliner, apply mascara and blend pink blush into the apples of your cheeks. If you also want Belle’s hair, curl the front sections of your hair and pull the hair away from your face into a ponytail.
Ariel: Since she lives in the ocean, Ariel has a constant dewy glow. To achieve this look yourself, apply foundation, and use just a bit of powder to prevent the look from being matte. Then apply blush in the area underneath your cheekbone. For the eyes, apply white shadow lightly all over the eyelids, especially in the corners. Then, use a purple eyeshadow and blend it from the outer corners of the eyes into the creases. Using an angled brush (or purple eyeliner), draw a thin purple line underneath your lower lash lines. Line the eyes with liquid eyeliner, and apply 1-2 coats of mascara. Finish the look with a pink lipstick or gloss.
Jasmine: If you have naturally darker skin, this would be an easy look for you to achieve. For pale Lovelies who want to achieve Jasmine’s look, start with a tinted foundation and set it with powder. For her smoky eyes, start by applying a brown shadow on the outer edges and crease of the eye. Then dust a gold shimmery shadow on the inner corners of the eyelids, blending it out across the lid. To eliminate any harsh edges, use a taupe shadow and blending brush. Line the upper lash lines with dark eyeliner, and apply liquid liner on the outer edges of the lash lines for Jasmine’s cat-eye look. Apply mascara. Contour the cheekbones with a shimmery white powder and apply a rose shade of blush to the apples of the cheeks. Finish with a ruby lipstick.
Pocahontas: I can’t wait to try this look! Because Pocahontas also has a darker skin tone, start by applying tinted foundation, powder, and a bit of bronzer on the cheekbones and forehead. To achieve her brown smoky eyes, begin by applying brown shadow on the lower lids, as well as the area in and above the creases. Use a bit of darker brown on the area immediately above the lash lines. Apply bronze shadow just above the top of the eyelids, and a gold shadow into the corners of the eyes. Use a brown liner underneath the lower lash lines, line the upper lash lines with liquid liner and finish with mascara.
