I’m sitting on my couch in shorts, a shirt with tea stains and I haven’t touched a brush all morning. It may surprise you to hear that I don’t exactly feel like the belle of the proverbial ball, especially since I don’t plan on showering for another four hours. (A blogger’s work life: it ain’t glamorous and it don’t need to be.)
The above…situation is the reason I responded with some glee when I saw a post about an un-Photoshopped Victoria’s Secret angel. “Hooray!” I thought, “A real version of women, just like me!” Uh, not so much. Check out these untouched photos of Doutzen Kroes, and try not to feel too bad that she still looks perfect, even without any editing.
Seriously, Victoria’s Secret. You could save so much dang money by just not digitally editing your models. After all, there’s clearly no need to! This woman was clearly born Photoshopped. I’m just going to go slink off and eat some cold mac ‘n’ cheese with my cat now and never leave my apartment. [via Jezebel]
What do you think of these photos?

Too bad she only has 2 poses.

Why do they even bother Photoshopping.

so by unphotoshopped we mean no one came in with a blur tool and took away all her muscle definition? muscle definition that girl probably spends 7 hours a day working out to achieve.

oh i thought that all of them had glistening skin like someone just doused their pores with mineral water.

@WHOAlizz@xanga - lol exactly.

@Thatslifekid@xanga - When she looks that good, do you really need more than that? I admit I may be biased, lol.

Yeah, I am not sure why they would photoshop her at all. Besides to make her less muscly, which isn’t THAT unappealing. Just how a woman in that kind of shape usually looks.

to be honest I thought this post will make me feel better about myself but those women are so gorgeous un-photoshoped!!! Why do they even bother?

They photoshop things like eyelashes and lip fatness. Things that plastic sugary can’t replicate. Also things like ( in Victoria’s Secret’s case) wet skin, tints in skin, removing her rib cage showing. And things that don’t even matter with her like adds background noise and words. You can never not edit in a commercial. (wait.. is that even grammatically correct? two double negatives right?)

So……… what you’re saying is that people who are hired because they look beautiful,
are
actually beautiful?
I’m just curious where the surprise is. You can see these girls un-Photoshopped at every catwalk event and Hollywood outing they have.

Well, they were chosen to be VA models for a reason. The better the body, the less editing after a shoot.

Before anyone develops low self-esteem and eating disorders I am just going to point out that this look is NOT healthy. It is just the aestetic of modelling chosen specifically for how well they fit the modern “look” of models. In real life when you see them in plain clothes they often look like bone rack 12 year old boys. The fact that their ribs needs to be edited is just scary.
Not to say that this is evil or that slim people can’t be healthy but people PLEASE do not feel bad that you don’t look like this. It is not the only form of beauty… assuming that you find this beautiful. I prefer to think of it as very extreme art, which I like. And the editing that accentuates shadows and lighting just plays up that art aesthetic. Like so many forms of art, its not real or common, and that’s what makes it cool.
