Lately, everyone has been watching (and talking about) everything Olympics – especially Michael Phelps related. After winning numerous gold medals and surpassing everyone’s expectations, Phelps has become the favorite of many viewers.
Well, since I am an avid watcher there’s one thing I’ve wondered many times – what in the world is Michael Phelps listening to on his headphones??
I know it may be a mindless question, but before every competition, Phelps is seen coming out with his headphones on and his eyes fiercely wide. So, I wonder – what kind of music does he listen to that pumps him up before his races?
Well, it’s rumored that he is a big rap and hip-hop fan and has it blasting before every game. But I did my research and found out that he listens to anything from Afrojack to Jay-Z to Avicii to get him revved before competing!
Well, I don’t know about you, but I think I will be updating my workout playlist immediately! [via Details Magazine]
What do you think of Michael’s playlist? Does it make you want to change your workout music?

Well actually, headphones ≠ music.

I have been fascinated by this question since the first time I watched him amble into the swim pool with the $150.00 head phones. My immediate reaction was , “this boy is serious about his music” Anyone with that gear on his head is selecting with some due diligence.
Please use your journalistic skills, which are obviously quite well honed, and get to the bottom of his playlist. Whatever it is, it sure works for him. Maybe he has something in the mangle we need to be listening to as well. As always, nothing succeeds like success.
Great Post. You are always awesome!

No celebrity will get me into rap. Music is a very personal choice. Good for Phelps for listening to something (music, motivational speaking, whatever) that gets him into his A game.

He is listening to Phelps’ Phunky Techno

I was betting on Eye of the Tiger.

I think music really helps set the mood for the person
I remember listening to Power by Kanye feat. Jay-z always gets me motivated in the gym haha

I thought they might be noise canceling. Anyway, I don’t think it shows proper individuality for someone to be inclined to listen to different music just because someone famous does. And on top of that, not only was this a pretty useless article but it didn’t give a concrete answer or even any proof as to where the given information came from.
