Christopher Boffoli has been fashioning whimsical worlds out of miniature figurines since 2005 and this featured collection, named Big Appetites, is his most deliciously clever set to date. Boffoli delicately arranges a tasty microcosm for his tiny people, transforming the simplest everyday morsels into buildings, fields and cliff-sides. Explore his creative use of your favorite foods by their size, shape and texture for a pocket-sized society.
Christopher Boffoli’s series of photographs are as pleasant as they are creative. But there may be more to this exhibit in all things yummy, as explains the meaning behind his creations on his website, where you can check out more arrangements:
The series presents tiny, meticulously detailed figures posed in real food environments, referencing both a cultural fascination with tiny things as well as an American enthusiasm for excess, especially in the realm of food.

What do you think of these cute works of whimsy? Do you agree with the artist’s message behind his work?

Great. Now I won’t be able to go hiking tomorrow without thinking of poptarts. There’s a bunch of trenches on the mountain where I’m going and the red clay dirt looks kind of like cinnamon.
