Instead of doing a post entirely dedicated to my own cat (don’t test me, I was very tempted) I decided to pick someone else’s. That someone else happens to be Chanel head designer Karl Lagerfield. This iconic Frenchman is not only known for his brilliant designs, but also for his adorable little feline friend, Choupette. According to him she has become the most “famous cat in the world”…and he may be a tad jealous…
Lagerfield admits that while he doesn’t believe he is all that famous, he feels his kitty friend is. Well that makes sense considering he named a bag after his beloved cat. Note the Choupette bag, pictured below.
I can definitely notice the cat resemblance in the fabric, but I can’t say I would personally be sporting such a tote. Nonetheless, Choupette will be immortalized in Chanel history. And here I was thinking I was cool when Kate Spade made a pair of rain boots named ‘Randi’ (they had bows… I couldn’t help it). I have to give Karl props though, I’d do the same thing if I designed clothes.
Choupette is one cool cat…I mean she even uses an iPad. White to match her fur, of course. It’s even reported that Lagerfield feeds her at the same table he eats at. This kitty lives in the lap of luxury!

just FYI, Karl Lagerfeld is German (born in Hamburg). He’s not French; he’s just based in Paris.
