I religiously watched America’s Next Top Model from Cycle 1 to about Cycle 13. I used to be obsessed – I even got my parents hooked. But now? Not so much. I couldn’t even bring myself to watch the most recent season, which was all-stars (aka people I actually remembered being interested about). Still, it didn’t compel me like the previous cycles had. Now, Tyra Banks herself is admitting she almost left the show.

Tyra claims she was just too stressed out and couldn’t handle the woes of cycle after cycle of her hit show ANTM. Instead of throwing in the towel, Tyra hired coaches to help her better deligate her tasks. She knew she wasn’t ready to leave her baby.

How about the entire show go along with Tyra? With record low ratings over the past few cycles, ANTM just isn’t what it used to be. Tyra is a smart business woman: the show just wouldn’t be the same without her, but that does not necessarily mean there still needs to be a show.

For instance, cycle 19 which premieres this fall is themed ‘College Edition’. Tyra found a group of hopefuls from colleges across the country and plans to see which intellectuals have some modeling talent. Well, if this doesn’t sound like a mess waiting to happen. Over the past few cycles, Tyra has fired most of the original judges and tried theming the show to attract viewers and keep it relevant. Considering I don’t watch any longer, I’m not sure how well it has worked.

Lovelies, do you still watch America’s Next Top Model or do you think its time for the show to end? Will you be tuning in to Cycle 19 in the fall?
