Anything cold in the summer is pretty satisfying. Nothing beats coming inside and escaping the heat by sucking on a cool treat, that not only tastes delicious, but is also healthy. My mom used to buy fudge pops and chocolate dipped ice cream cones, but we’ve recently switched to more healthy dessert choices that are fun to experiment with and taste test from home.
For instance, my sister had the idea of simply freezing orange juice, and just eating the beverage frozen was delicious. Even better is making frozen juice ice cubes and splashing them into your favorite fruity drinks. Yum, this is making me thirsty!
Try some of these thirst quenching recipes to beat the August heat this month. What are some of your favorite DIY summer concoctions?

I bet any combination of fresh ripe summer fruit, juice and yogurt would be delicious! I love strawberries, pineapples and peaches–they will definitely make an appearance.

I just puree frozen strawberries and grab a spoon!
