To be honest, I’ve never put much thought into how American films are advertised around the world. I guess I just assumed that the American movie posters were simply reproduced in different languages, and that they looked the same worldwide. I was wrong. Advertisements for American films can vary greatly, depending on the country in which it is being shown. It’s pretty interesting to see how our movies are represented around the world!
For example, check out the above poster for Bride Wars. Pretty cool, right? This is just one of many American films that has been represented in foreign countries. Some of our foreign movie posters are interesting, some are a bit weird, but they’re all definitely worth taking a look at. Check out the gallery for more foreign representations of American movie posters!
What do you think of these film posters, Lovelies? Are there any you find particularly interesting?

Interesting. It seems some of them are more literal, like the Bride Wars one. I liked the artistic take on the Black Swan poster. However, I would have to say that soccer has nothing to do with Sex and the City 2. I guess they are trying to include a broader audience, considering soccer/futbol is very popular outside of the US.

I don’t really see a difference for Mirror Mirror besides the language
