I wish that body art involved fewer needles. If this was the case, I would be infinitely more likely to get an extra piercing or a small tattoo. I have two holes in one ear and three in the other, and I’m pretty sure that will be the extent of my experimentation with body art. It’s a shame, because as I’ve been seeing recently, some tattoos and piercings can be absolutely adorable without being too outrageous.

You may be thinking, “What a baby! She can’t even handle a needle for a piercing?” Truth be told, I didn’t realize just how much I hated needles until September of 2011. Lounging around on a Saturday morning, a few of my friends and I decided to adventure to a local tattoo parlor. My roommate wanted her nose done, and two of us were going to have our cartilages pierced. My oh-so-brave roommate decided to go first, since I was a bundle of nerves at the mere thought of having a needle go through my ear. For some reason we thought I would feel better if she went first.

We were wrong. She hopped up on the stool and sat still as a statue while the professional jabbed a needle through her nostril. Sure, she didn’t move a muscle, but I had to sit down. She, and the tattoo artist, asked if I was okay (no, not embarrassing). After that I was pretty skeptical about getting my own ear done, but went through with it anyway. While the piercing was virtually painless, I still got dizzy and was forced to lie down. My finest moment? Not really…

Needless to say, I’m pretty sure I won’t be making any more trips to the tattoo parlor. But that doesn’t mean I can’t admire other people’s body art! Check out the gallery for some seriously cool tattoos and piercings that I wish I was brave enough to get.

What do you Lovelies think of body art? Would you have any of these tattoos or piercings done?
