Fashion these days makes me nostalgic. With all these 90′s trends reemerging, I can’t help but reminisce about brands I used to obsess over. For starters, the Kipling backpack. I loved them because they came in every size and color, and each bag came with an adorable monkey charm. I never owned one, but I really really wanted to.
Maybe I was spoiled, but of all the things on this list, the only thing I didn’t own was the backpack. I had a plethora of No Fear and Mossimo shirts, Umbro shorts and Jncos… And honestly, I’m not sure how proud I am of that. Here are some popular brands from the 90′s you might remember.
Did you own any of these brands?

I had Guess jeans, Doc Martens, Adidas, and Hypercolor (until I decided announcing to the world where you sweat was nasty).

I remember when No Fear was the shit of shits. In fact, there was a kid at my school that was made fun of a lot, and was basically the pariah at school. He moved away in 1996, in the sixth grade. He moved back in 2001, in the tenth grade (he got held back), and tried to impress everyone by wearing a bunch of No Fear shirts and starter jackets and Nike shoes. Poor kid looked like a reject from a New Kids On The Block video. I think it worked, oddly enough.

I still have Docs… kind of. They bought out GripFast, or vice versa, and I’ve been wearing GripFast boots for over a decade and wasn’t going to change for a silly buy-out. They’re the same price range as docs but are made better so they last as long as boots should.

I like Mossimo and Guess. These brands have changed their niche, they are still relevant. And Doc Martens boots, while I never owned a pair, friends who have, owned their pairs for at least 10 years (provided that their feet haven’t grown much since they were purchased). They are sturdy and durable, which makes them very practical. Growing up I never had much “brand name” clothing, shoes or accessories because they were often more expensive than some options, but I did have a couple pairs of Nike shoes during my childhood.

Can’t think of any other brands for that time period. However – does anyone remember Koogles Peanut Butter and Crazy Cow ?
