Bling, bling everywhere! It comes as no surprise that when a celebrity couple decides to tie the knot, there are some major expenses involved. Nuptials of the rich and famous never go unnoticed, with their over-the-top bridal gowns and lavish receptions. Marking the beginning of every wedding extravaganza is a proposal, which would never be complete without a golf ball-sized engagement ring.
Just when we think we’ve seen the most outrageous ring, another celebrity walks out with one that’s even more blinding, diamond-covered, and ridiculously expensive. The value of just one of these engagement rings could pay for a house (or two), a couple of luxury sports cars, or multiple non-celebrity weddings. From Kim Kardashian’s 20.5-carat ring to Paris Hilton’s 24-carat one, these jewelry pieces are nothing short of outrageous. To be perfectly honest, I can’t say that I’d ever even want a ring of such enormous value. Can you imagine the stress that would come from losing such a thing? I’d almost be afraid to wear it! I’d rather have it safely locked in a box than on my finger, where it could so easily slide off into a sink or on a sidewalk.
I guess celebrities are pretty great at keeping track of their bling. Take a look at the gallery for some of their most over-the-top engagement rings!
Which celebrity engagement ring is your favorite, Lovelies?

While I love me some sparkly things, I prefer smaller rings. Smaller stones are more practical. Some of the larger stones look so garish and cartoon-like, just too much in my opinion. From the photos above, I love Kate Middleton’s ring. Unique and has a story behind it. I love the idea of wearing a heirloom ring, it makes it a little more special. Someone might see it as an “used ring,” but I think it is sentimental.

I completely agree with you – Kate’s is my favorite ring on the list! It’s beautiful, unique, and not too over-the-top. I think the fact that it’s an heirloom definitely adds sentimental value.

I feel like Kate’s ring is way under estimated. The ring itself may be worth 500 000 but considering it’s like crown jewel shouldn’t it have more worth?

What does an engagement ring signify, anyway? Is it a modern day dowry? Is it one of those “your hand in marriage is worth such and such, and I am buying it” kinds of things? Because I understand the wedding ring, but I never got the whole engagement ring thing. Especially after my sister got engaged four times, and each time the ring was tiny and insignificant, but she felt she had to have it to be able to continue having sex with whatever guy she was fixated on at the time.

I prefer my $250 2 carat amethyst. It’s prettier

I LOVE rings but I can’t fathom spending THAT much on a stone. I know it’s all relative but even if a ring that massive is only 1% of a celebrity’s net worth… think of how many houses (investment) you could buy with a few million. Or orphans you could support for their entire childhoods until they can get a job… hmm
