1994 was a crazy transitional year for me. It was the year Clueless came out, the year I fell in love with Mtv and the year I started having an interest in fashion magazines…particularly Sassy and YM. Unfortunately, The same year I started reading Sassy magazine was the year the publication stopped printing. And YM just lost it’s luster after the 90′s ended.
I held on to the few issues that I owned for years, until they became so raggedy I had no choice but to toss them. If only I knew at the time how much my adult self would totally love flipping though old dog-eared issues of Sassy and YM. Here are some issues from these publications I wish I could read now.
Do you remember these magazines?

@Erika_Steele@xanga - Me, too! I had a subscription to Sassy AND YM. God, I feel old. What I loved about Sassy was that it was different than all the other typical teen magazines at the time. It wasn’t just about fashion, beauty, or relationships, but delved into controversial topics such as HIV, sexuality, suicide, etc.

I really liked YM and I was so sad when they stopped publishing and I got a copy of Teen Vogue. I was like “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”.
