As the world found out this week, Mariah Carey has joined the judging table for American Idol, filling the space left by music stars Jennifer Lopez and Stephen Tyler. Getting Carey is a huge PR win for the ever declining Idol, and I think her presence will definitely add a new flavor to the show.
I am a huge Mariah fan, I’ll admit it. Her Emancipation of Mimi album is one of my most played album in my Itunes, and I have been found countless times trying to belt ‘We Belong Together’. At the age of 42, Mariah looks better than ever … except in her judge photo for the next AI season.
Mariah has a hot body, but looks ridiculously photoshopped in this image. And what is with the awkward hand placement on her stomach and shoulder? That hand on stomach look only looks cute on heavily pregnant women, which Mariah is not.
Her hair looks awesome, but her facial expression seems dead and almost pained. Smile, Mariah, you’re getting paid a ton (reportedly $17 million) to sit in a chair and tell people how well they sing!

She looks ridiculous posing like that imho. Anyway, I think it’ll be interesting to have her on AI. This is someone who can actually sing and sing exceptionally well, and she has a lot to offer in terms of giving advice. It’ll be entertaining for sure.
