Hopefully the 50 Shades of Grey hype doesn’t die down before September, because one designer has used it as inspiration for an ad campaign that’s set to run in fall magazines. It features Celebrity Apprentice star Dayana Mendoza, former rugby player Tom Evans and lots of, well, shades of grey.
Designer Andrew Marc (who uses a font that suspiciously resembles Marc Jacobs’…) is running this ad in the September and October issues of Glamour and People StyleWatch. I’ve never read the books, but the source remarks that, “We’re not sure whether the setting is meant to be Christian’s playroom or part of his palatial apartment, but whatever, it works.” Playroom? Now I almost want to read these out of confusion.
I must admit, this is a nicely-composed ad, even if the premise is a little hokey. I especially like Dayana’s dress, and the unzipped back is a nice touch. Also: abs. [via Fashionista]
What do you think of this ad? Is it silly or awesome?

Also note: Boner.
I’m really tired of the whole “50 Shades” theme being thrown at me from every side.

I don’t really see how this is “50 shades inspired.”

This looks to be reminiscent of the scene where he pulls out her tampon.

@TakingxOverxMe@xanga - I had totally put that out of my mind. Maybe I can re-forget it.

don’t like the 50 shades of grey, so to me it’s just….a towel and a weird thing to wear.
