Dane has never been good to begin with but THAT was just straight up distasteful. Too soon.

Too soon. I don’t know if jokes like that are ever okay. 9/11 jokes still rub me the wrong way. 

Both. He has the right to do it, but it’s still tacky. If others find it amusing, well that’s their problem, not mine. 

I hate Dane Cook, it was fucking distasteful, he’s an ass

but seeing the previous batman movies I laughed.

I just don’t like Dane Cook. He’s not very funny to me. And personally, even though he has a right to joke about whatever he wants, I just don’t want to hear it, so I won’t watch it. :/ 

He has the right to make whatever tacky jokes he chooses.  If that’s how he delivers jokes on stage, he sucks.  We are all giving him the attention he wants.

Too soon. This is not going to make me popular and I don’t condone what he did, but I do sympathize with his rejection. I am also a little bit in love with James Holmes. What he did was wrong and he deserves to rot in prison. But…..he’s kind of cute.

i don’t think there’s a too soon, just plain out wrong. It has nothing to do with time, a shooting will never be funny….it’s been over a decade since Columbine and I don’t think anyone dares to laugh still.

If every comedian was grilled and destroyed for saying inappropriate things, there would be none.

Shootings aren’t all that funny though.

This would of been funny of George Carlin did it. Dane Cook was never funny and this is a desperate act to be in the spotlight just one more time.

Knowing someone that was injured in the shootings, this is WAY over the line. And way too soon. Just lost any shred of liking for this dude. Those people will be scarred for most or the rest of their lives and he wants to joke about it. Hey let’s joke about the thousands that died in 911 while we’re at it. I hope my friend who was injured doesn’t have to see this. 

i dont find it funny, but im not going to judge somebody who thinks its acceptable to joke about it. it is tacky… no, its worse than tacky. (excuse the crap text, phone blacks out on xanga mobile when i get all fancy on my writings)

It was pretty boring in the beginning but it’s generally looked upon as bad form of you play out death as a joke.

Ahahaha, so many people are outraged by this joke. Not long ago, Daniel Tosh made jokes about rape. In fact I believe lovelyish had a blog about it? maybe? I forget who, but anyways – in it, Tosh tells a female heckler to “get gang raped” or some shit. He took some heat for it & made a lame apology about it.

Yet, a majority of you people weighed in saying it “it was no big deal” it was “funny” because it was joke! even though, the actual act of rape disgusted you. But it was cool, because Tosh only “joked about it.” 
I am appalled that Dane Cook would sink so low for new material that less then a week he’d joke about something so tragic as the Aurora shooting, but joking about non-funny subjects, seems to be the “IN” thing to do these days. very sad. What’s even sadder is the fact people are more outraged about this joke then Tosh making rape jokes. They’re equally disgusting IMO. Neither subject should ever be a joke. I guess I am just a ‘stick in the mud’ here & don’t find rape jokes or 9/11 jokes or Columbine jokes or any other joke about a human tragedy hilarious. Nor do I make excuses for it, like “Ohh it’s just a

joke!

Yes, I am aware these comedians are allowed to make whatever jokes they will & if it backfires, it backfires — however, they reach a large audience. Lets not forget the millions of TV viewers as well as the people watching their shows. So to stand up there & make jokes like that for comedic value & money purposes is outright disgusting. 

I just can’t understand these over and over again same posts about the same shit. “Nicki Minaj wears something outlandish again, everyone hates it, just like she always does. Does she look the same or does she look the same?” “You can see Miley Cyrus’ nipples/side boob/stomach. The same story again.” “Tosh.0 makes the same jokes he’s been making since he became a comedian.” “Dane Cook continues to do the same thing he’s always done”.
I guess this is just a bunch of people running a blog, though. I really hope this isn’t considered some kind of journalism… right?

Personally didn’t find it as bad as the Tosh one. I wanted to rip his teeth out over that.

If he had waited a few more weeks, this probably would have blown over. He’s doing irony, not playing out death as a joke and since I have no emotional tie to the Aurora shooting other than what other people tell me I should be feeling, I chuckled.

The shooting was a tragic event for sure. What is the point in being outraged by what someone says, that was probably his attempt at making light of the situation. Shit happens and there is no sense dwelling on bad things, life is too short.
