This definitely calls for a Jean-Luc Picard face-palm. Other than that it really needs no introduction. You know the folks at Chick-fil-A just expressed their true feelings about homosexuality and what not, it’s been all over the news. But in an ill-fated attempt to redeem their image, they (or someone acting alone) sort of put boots on the ground to try to absolve some heckling on Facebook. The results… were cringeworthy. Take a look.
And then this:
Whoops! You’re not a real “pretty redheaded teenager” you impostor, you! So we’re left to wonder, is this Chick-Fil-A’s PR department doodling around in a cubicle trying to get on our level about the recent events? Or is this some meddling troll trying to make Chick-Fil-A look even worse? Or is it just some bored PTA mom who thinks gay-free chicken tastes best? Conspiracy theories aside, this is becoming a bit of a circus. I don’t eat there anyway and wouldn’t have given a crap either way, but I’m willing to sit back and watch at this point. Who do you suspect would try to pull something like this?

Whoa they actually paid for a stock photo to troll their customers. They getn srs.

Oh dear. I’m cringing so hard, even though I have never eaten at Chick-Fil-A and will continue to not do so. (No matter how much their waffle fries call to me!) The part of me that’s cringing wants SO BADLY for the model for that stock photo to be named Abby but… it seems like that’s not incredibly likely.

They need stock photos with bathroom backgrounds.

they said they didn’t do it so, unless proof is discovered that they did, i’m gonna take their word for it. there are really so many people who would have had motivation to do it. it could have been a random fan who didn’t want a bunch of hate directed at their personal facebook or an employee without the permission of the company.

While fake accounts aren’t out of the ordinary for businesses wishing to influence their social media image, I doubt this one was made by the company. The company would be a bit more careful in their statements.

Probably just some teenager who wanted her chicken. I doubt the company had anything to do with it. “derr” isn’t exactly an intelligent argument.

Regardless of whether Chick-fil-a did make a fake account, whether you disagree or agree with Dan Cathy, disagree or agree with boycotting Chick-fil-a, disagree or agree with Jim Henson’s actions…can we all agree that putting up a sign that is blatantly lying is a super stupid move by whoever decided to do so?

1. Why is this on Lovelyish?
2. Stop spreading lies.

Chick Fil A has issued a statement about this. If it was an employee, they acted alone.

Seems kind of high schoolish

@VampireOfSeduction@xanga - If you can write good advertising, you can knock off a teenager’s Facebooking in your sleep. I hate to break it to you but “Abby” was a plant for the sake of Southerners with a fifth grade homeschool education and designed to tell them what they were eager to believe.

This whole thing is getting so out of control. Here’s what I have gathered from reading bits and pieces from articles and friends’ Facebook…. Chick-Fil-A said or announced that they support straight marriage and they base their values on the bible. Which is no big deal. Millions of people feel that way. If I owned a company, I probably wouldn’t bring my religion into play but whatever. This is not necessarily a reason to boycott them or even get upset. But later I read that Chick-Fil-A donated millions of dollars to an “anti-gay” group. I don’t remember, or maybe it didn’t say, what the group was actually called or what their cause was. But if it is true, THIS is a reason I would not support Chick-Fil-A anymore. Anyone that wastes millions of dollars to hate, bash, or put people down is just plain ludicrous. All my “Christian” friends on Facebook keep posting that Chick-Fil-A did nothing wrong, and all they said was they follow the bible. But that’s apparently not all they did.
I just don’t understand how these people think they are following God by hating others. There are some people in particular I know, who think they are better than everyone else because they have such a good relationship with God. They think their opinion is ALWAYS right, and while they say they support everyone’s’ freedom, they refuse to see anyone else’s point of view. I might personally think someone else is making wrong choices, but I would never degrade them because of it. I try to keep a very open mind and remember that just because I know something is right does not mean that it is. Because there’s always someone on the opposite side who knows they are right. We are all in this together people.

I’m gay, and I still eat there.
Don’t understand the big deal, to be honest.~
