Not only was yesterday the showing of this year’s Teen Choice Awards, but it was also Selena Gomez’s 20th birthday! Wow, I feel like she’s grown up so fast since her pre-teen years when we were first introduced to her on Wizards of Waverly Place back in 2007. And I’m pleased that, thus far at age 20 she has maintained a pretty squeaky-clean reputation.
Donning an adorable fuschia sundress to the award show, Selena was surprised on stage with cupcake sparklers while everyone sang and wished her a happy birthday. Apparently, post-show, her and boyfriend Justin Bieber had a romantic dinner at Il Cielo in Beverly Hills where “Selena walked out the front holding hands with Justin and she was holding a bouquet of flowers,” according to a source from US Weekly.
She later thanked everyone via Facebook for making her birthday extra special: “Beyond blessed. So much love. Thank you for the most incredible birthday yet! I’m truly, truly grateful. I love my family, friends and all of you.” You’re welcome, Selena!
