And to clarify if you’re not familiar with the show, Breaking Bad is a series about crystal meth. I mean it’s about a lot of other things, but it centers around meth. The specific type of meth that is manufactured by the stars of the show is known as “Blue Glass“… and now someone has made rock candy — which isn’t a hard thing to do — to sell online as a spoof of the semi-fictitious drug for fans of the show. Funny? Or WTF?
Etsy seller LosPulgasHermanos is responsible for this tongue-in-cheek product, which sells at anywhere from $5 to $45 depending on size. Aside from the implications of the product itself, I’m not sure how I feel about ordering something edible off Etsy. Is it just me, or is this just a really good DIY party favor idea for a Breaking Bad watching party? (Zomg pin it!)

I was actually just talking about this with my dad (not this specific product but the idea). We have this couch that we take to local landmarks and take pictures with, and occasionally just do themed pictures with. We have a Dexter scene with one (the caption is “Casey Anthony, your couch is ready”). We were discussing getting hazmat suits and having big bags of either mashed up blue jolly ranchers or something similar. Love this.

Yeah, I wouldn’t buy anything edible off of etsy. But the actual product? I don’t know, rock candy is a thing, and is what they use of the show. I don’t know what meth looks like, but if it looks like that, it’s really nondescript compared to your everyday rock candy. It’s like cocaine and flour, or ecstasy and candy. It’s not like with somethings where a candy cigarette, cigar, joint would look pretty much only like a cigarette, cigar, joint.
