I might be 25, out of college and on my own, but I don’t consider myself to be a “grown-up.” My parents are grown-ups, my teachers in school were grown-ups. How do I make the distinction? Well, one of the main criteria is that I’m an Internet native, and I learned how to use the Internet before they did… that makes them grown-ups. So what happens when these parents and their fellow friends in their golden years log onto the biggest social networking site in the world? Hilarity, that’s what.

Some grown-ups take Facebook really seriously. Others, like my mom when she first signed on a few years ago, thought all comment boxes were like an instant-message widget. I would have entire threads that said things like, “Hey !” and then “Hello ?” and then “Yoooo hooooooo ??” (She doesn’t like putting punctuation right up next to the text.)
