We all like to take pride in our appearance, and if that means forking over cash for a high-end beauty product, most of us will make the sacrifice. But who doesn’t love a bargain when it’s available? I know if I found a very close mock of my favorite NARS blush or my favorite Makeup Forever eyeliner I’d be happy to give the cheaper product a try.
Well, this list from Makeup Lovers Unite might help some of you ladies find just the match you’re looking for and save a few bucks. Here are ten drugstore items— near-perfect matches for high-end brands — that might be just as good. Take a look.
Everyone loves NARS Orgasm — but Milani Luminous is a dead ringer for it!
Much of the time I find that a color I love is a limited edition or gets discontinued for one reason or another and my heart is broken. So even if you’re not ready to make the switch, it can be great to know that there’s a lookalike out there for your favorite product if for some reason it’s not available. These products will definitely do in a pinch! Check out the rest of these awesome lookalikes at the source.

Lovelies, would you try these high-end comparables?

The only things I wouldn’t substitute are eye make up and foundation. My allergies won’t allow it. If Almay made more colors, they could possibly be a good drug store substitute for eye makeup.

sometimes it might be psychological and the person feels that the product is that much better due to it being a popular brand that gets hyped up by others. maybe put on these drugstore brand makeup products and then when someone asks, tell the person that everything that you have on is MAC, then if the person is a MAC fan, then omg, you look fabulous
but then tell her that this is actually all drugstore brand
or if you know the person doesn’t like MAC but mostly uses drugstore brands, then tell her the opposite that you’re wearing drugstore brands but later reveal that it is all MAC products
it is like that coffee taste test where more people chose the instant folgers brand over the other popular/overhyped brands. they can’t tell the difference when there aren’t any labels.

I looove posts like this! Substitutions are amazing, because I am a fashion junkie, but still need makeup. I’d much rather spend money on clothes than makeup, but sometimes there’s that holy grail product I have to have (NARS Orgasm) But that dupe is amazing, I’m definitely going to have to get it!

I think the captions of the blushes are mixed up (:

@P0RCELA1N_D0LL@xanga - I think some people are totally convinced that the fancy brand is way better than the drugstore brand. I would at least try the drugstore brand before totally writing it off.
@cindyhs@xanga - I thought the same thing!
I am willing to try drugstore makeup, but there are some things I refuse to skimp on like night cream.

i do try it out but a lot of time drug store brands aren’t fragrance free and it irritates my skin and i break out.

I love that the colors are exactly the same, but is the quality?

I think the list is only 5, not 10. XD
And yes, the blush captions seem to be mixed up.
But nice list of dupes!
