As of about a year ago, How I Met Your Mother has become one of my favorite television shows. The combination of Neil Patrick Harris’ overly conceded, womanizer personality and Jason Segel’s often naive yet comedic sense of humor drew me in and has me addicted. I like that you don’t have to follow the series in any particular order to get a gist of what exactly is going on, and the jokes never get old even when I catch reruns.
But how weird is it that the Russian version of the show features cast members that resemble the originals so closely?
I mean, they’re a little off, but it’s amusing to me to see the Russian alternatives to one of my favorite shows. This photo (above) makes me laugh as I make comparisons, but NPH and Segel are irreplaceable in my eyes. I just wish I knew what they were saying in this video!

I don’t think they look like the original cast. I think I find it funny b/c it looks like the Russian version is aimed more at poking fun of the US culture than it is trying remake the original show in Russian.

the greg brady hairdo is funny looking. I haven’t seen the show to judge, but it seems like the censored version of the hbo show, entourage, where a bunch of geeks are womanizers. skanky geeks are a sign of the times.

Yeeeah, no O_o The actors who play Robin and Ted in the Russian version (on the left) look like they should be playing Marshall and Lily (that’s who I thought they were at first) and the actors who actually do play Marshall and Lily look like they should be Ted and… not Robin, haha. Maybe one of Ted’s random girlfriends or something. Plus both couples are sitting on the opposite side of the table than they usually sit in the American show. Of course, I’m a huge How I Met Your Mother fan, so that’s probably why I’m extra anal and scrutinizing of the look of this remake, aha x)
