And no, they don’t mean from a buffet. Many who know 7-11 are familiar with their Slurpees, the icy-licious mystery drinks dispensed from giant churning containers in their self-serve area. Well, now joining the ranks of Slurpees, all-in-one cappuccinos and nacho-cheese machines is 7-11′s latest endeavor: the self-serve mashed “potatoes” and gravy machine. Click through for a video of the machine in action — but don’t expect to have an appetite afterwards.
$2 gets you a little pail of potatoes(?) and some chicken(?) gravy if you so choose.
Guys, I’m kind of a snob about food, I’ll be honest. Fast food is pretty icky to me anyway, but I don’t think that’s the issue here. Even if you’re a Big-Mac-a-day kind of person… there’s just something not OK about this. Granted, this video is from a 7-11 in Singapore, but apparently these are popping up stateside now.
What do you think, Lovelies? Would you try it?

I have been served mashed potatoes in HOSPITALS that look and probably taste better than that.

No, thank you. Trips to 7-11 will be reserved for the purchase of Slurpees, Lotto tickets, late night donuts and the occasional beer run.

This is gross, but not terrifying gross. It’s a machine that holds water and instant potatoes and mixes them together when you press the button. I wouldn’t eat instant potatoes if I mixed them myself so no.

I wouldn’t eat it. Then again, I dont eat any kind of food like that from a gas station.

Why would Singapore go for something like this? There’s food on like every corner.

Recommend TIB’s post.

I don’t know why everyone thinks it looks gross.. It’s the same concept of instant mashed potatoes and the the mashed potatoes at fast food joints.. I’d be down to try this if they had one at the 7-11 by my house!

Sure, I would it eat. Why not?

I’d eat it. But I loooooove instant mashed potatoes.

I had taste one but from Magie machine it was sooo tasty but the machine no longer available i don’t know why.. nothing gross about the video ! i don’t know maybe it’s just me !

What’s the difference between this and instant mashed potatoes at home? Or mash from a takeout restaurant? It’s probably more hygienic in a machine than it is in some filthy kitchen somewhere.

i think that’s great but i wish we had a 7/11 around here because SLUSHIES!

You know how much money this thing would have made when I was in college? This shit is genius.

It’s just instant potato flakes and water, right? Granted, I don’t eat instant potatoes because I don’t think I’d like them, but I’m not scared of them. I would eat this before I would have a slurpee.

I love mashed potatoes but… No…

hur i know, i know.
but i’ve had it a few times and its actually not that bad.
where i come from, loads of small food stores actually use the premix stuff. (and they are so bad)
but 7-11′s version is actually pretty decent.
