I have a slightly nerdy streak, and I really wanted to attend San Diego Comic Con this year. It’s the world’s biggest geek convention, with tons of panels and events that involve video games, movies, fantasy, sci-fi and lots more. The only problem is, Comic Con tickets sell out in seconds. So, while I wasn’t able to go put on a sweet Game of Thrones costume, I did get to enjoy the novelty of other peoples’ getups! Check out some of the most interesting ones by clicking here.
Awww, it looks like everyone is having so much fun without me! Maybe I’ll manage to snag SDCC tickets in 2014…because next years’ event is already sold out. Head on over to the source to see even more awesome photos! [via Huffington Post]
Which costume is your favorite?

the girls weren’t interesting at all.

SDCC may be the biggest comic convention around here but there are other smaller shows–you might have better luck getting into one of those. My husband is a big comic book fan and I’ve gone to a few smaller shows, it is fun to see the costumes/cosplay–that’s my favorite part. Seeing the culture is way more interesting than just seeing a couple of pictures though. The pictures do not do the cosplayers justice.

How dare you dress as Harley Quinn and not have a full face of white powder and a mask?!

If by “interesting” you mean nerdy, then I agree.

Actually, there are some conventions in Japan that make SDCC look small. But I might suggest taking a look at Dragon*Con, or the next two World Science Fiction Conventions, Chicon 7 (this year) and LoneStarCon 3 (2013).

You should look into smaller, local conventions of interest in your area. They aren’t celebrity packed nor will you get special previews of stuff, but can still be fun if you are into the stuff. I went to anime cons in high school and loved dressing up.

the starfish hair costume and hotel transylvania costumes are so adorable
the female costumes look like flimsy halloween costumes. another event where they try too hard to look sexy. the girl with the bra costume is ranked #3 as predicted and voted by guys. the guy sitting on the deer in the hunter costume looks like he’s having the most fun, so I pick him to win, although it is still a toss up between the transylvania cuddly monster costume. if these are the wackiest or most creative costumes, then I’d rather go to disney world and look at the cuter mascots there.

What is interesting about that generic Batgirl costume?

Where are the Doctor Who get-ups??
