Before I could wrap my mind around the numbers, the most surprising part of this story was that people have weddings for their pets. I mean, I suppose it shouldn’t be shocking, since devoted owners often throw birthday parties and other events for their animals. And this was quite the event: not only did the wedding cost almost $250,000, but the bride’s dress was designed by Henry Roth and cost $6,000. It wasn’t reported how much money the fundraiser made, but it’s at least known that the organizers spent $5,000 on sushi!
