You might know me as the girl who will never be a crafting diva. Pinterest blows my mind with its aspirations… so many promises. I feel like it’s just a wishing well of ideas. But every so seldom I run across a craft that a) doesn’t look like a craft and b) actually looks easy enough that I might be able to hack it and c) I would actually use (I feel like that’s the biggest pitfall to most of the crafts, they’d just sit there when I was finished). So here they are, in all their simplistic glory: 5 crafts I actually want to do

Those bisected animals up there? They’re just rubber animals cut in half, painted gold and glued to magnets. It hardly even qualifies as a craft, and I actually can’t see a way I could F it up. Plus magnets — I don’t know who decided this, but they’re always whackadoo expensive. Like stupidly so. And I don’t know about you, but I dig the idea of animal butts coming out of my fridge door. It says, “I have great taste, and a sense of humor.”

My logic is this: If you can fit the instructions into a six-word blurb on the image itself, it might be simple enough for my derpy crafting prowess. I still think I could find a way to screw this up, but it looks pretty forgiving. Plus, my domestic partnership thrives on caffeine. We never feel like a new mug is a bad investment.

Okay so this is technically food, not a craft. I’m telling you I’m grasping at straws because It’s more a matter of what I’d actually give a crap enough about to really do it. Cookie dough? You have my attention. Almond milk? Why, yes I already have that. That’s easy. So this recipe might happen, friends.

I’ve actually been thinking about paint-dipping my bar stools for a while now. Taping something off and painting it? God I hope my art degree ant I can summon the attention to figure this one out. Or else I’m hopeless.

And now let’s use our imaginations and pretend that this would ever be a thing I could do. Ready go.

This is. The coolest thing. I have ever seen. No, shh. Coolest ever. I swoon over this (really labor-intensive) “DIY” project all the time. We’re moving into a 630 square-foot studio at the end of the month and this is so much better than any rolling rack solution (we have so many clothes). And it’s so beautiful.

That said, will I make this? It’s unlikely Absolutely not. Le sigh. It seems I’ve already become a bit of that typical Pinterester… just throwing coins in the well.

And that’s it, folks. We’ve reached the outer walls of my creative motivation. Hope you enjoyed the futility of my utility.

What super-easy crafts have caught your attention? Have you found anything that’s actually foolproof?
