I know it’s mildly embarrassing, but I still can’t hate that Gotye song. You know the one. I’ve been visiting family all week and my younger sisters have barely stopped themselves from banning me from car rides, because every time “Somebody That I Used To Know” comes on, I just can’t resist singing along.
But then again, they’ve never actually changed the radio when those little plink sounds start, leading me to think that maybe my sisters secretly like the tune. And it seems that other people may like Gotye more than they are willing to admit, as evidenced by this hilarious video that brought me to tears. Check it out by clicking here!
As the source wisely points out, “Call Me Maybe” could probably fall into this category too. I’m not saying I want to have a CD playing them both on a loop, but I’m not saying I don’t want one. [via Gawker]
What do you think of this video? What about the song?

Hahahahahahaha yes!

I am not watching the video, but Goyte is the first new artist that I’ve liked in a long time. I actually like his other songs better. I’ve never heard this Just Call Me Maybe song that people have been talking about. I am sure I wouldn’t want it on a CD,

I honestly get so excited when the song plays while I’m in the car. I turn it up so loud and my mom’s just like -___- then I proceed to sing my heart out.

Ahahaa. This is awesome.

This was hilarious! I love the song and don’t even try to deny it. “Call Me Maybe” is a totally different story, I’d rather jump out of the moving car when it comes on than listen to it.

I actually don’t have any feelings towards the song, positive or negative. I guess you have to enjoy the song and find it grossly catchy in order to find this really funny? That’s why I found the Call Me Maybe one funny because I seriously couldn’t get that song out of my head.

besides changing the channel?
same for call me maybe, unless it’s the cookie monster version.

That guy in the passenger is Nicholas Braun, a former Disney actor. I used to find him kinda cute lol..
This was a funny video.. It’s exactly how I feel about the song.

LMAO the video has caused me to download the song because I never heard it until now.

Hahahah, oh my gosh its so true!

couple things:
1) the driver looks like skinny Jonah Hill
2) BOTH of those guys are annoying and not funny at all when they are just talking
3) BOTH of those guys are funny and entertaining when they are singing the hook
4) The video would have been tolerable had it been under a minute, and there wasn’t so much bad acting and non clever banter between the two guys. It was obvious that they were just strenuously thinking of stupid things to say to fill in the space until it was time to sing.
5) I don’t care what you say, that song is GREAT!!!!!

@Erika_Steele@xanga - Why is it necessary to advertise that you are not going to watch the video??? Who really cares? I’m sure the author will crushed! ugh, some people!

hahaha “god it’s just the worst-” “NOW YOU’RE JUST SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW” they’re kinda good… “this is actually a really good remix” after making fun of there being a million remixes, hahahaha. great video, thanks for sharing that.

@solidonsand@xanga - Apparently you, since you responded to my comment.

@Erika_Steele@xanga -No, that fact that you are not going to watch the video is something that I in NO way care about. The fact that you felt the need to announce it is what I responded to. blatant arrogance is difficult to ignore.

I HATE this song so much. It’s terrible. But it’s funny to see guys singing in the car.

@solidonsand@xanga - very good points. I completely agree with you, for me it was not only too drawn out but the actors were trying way too hard to make this video funny.

lmao! This is exactly what me and my best friend do when that song comes on!

Totally me every time Taylor Swift comes on the radio. The song starts, I start to sing, and half way through the song I’m like, “fuck! Why am I singing this?! I don’t even like this song!” o.O

the original singer actually sounds sexy in the beginning and reminds me of the savage garden singer in the truly madly deeply song’s voice, but the chorus part is very obnoxious when he breaks out in a high note voice like the beegees, but I guess the whiny voice suits the song because he’s sad over a girl and wants to yell at her while he’s trying to hold back tears, so his voice cracks. then the female singer chimes in with a nonchalant attitude like, I didn’t mean to hurt you
while rolling her eyes and texting her bestie about a new hot guy.

Ha, pretty good. This was me when Lady Gaga first got big; now I have to admit I love her. I don’t have any other excuse to sing to Bad Romance the way I do when it comes on the radio XD
