As I mentioned previously (here), the weather in New York has been sweltering (though quite nice), so it’s safe to say that wearing more garments or accessories than necessary isn’t happening. To stay cool, I tend to wear more of the lightweight, sheer fabrics that are breathable, but still look put together. And, instead of piling on the accessories, I opt for more vibrant colors and prints that make a statement.

Lovelies, what are some of your go-to summer pieces?

Where did you get that bracelet?? I’ve been looking around trying to find DY lookalikes!

I like your style.

These are cute outfits.

light colors and flowy tops. I’m usually indoors in an air conditioned room since it feels like 105-110+ lately and I’d rather pay the extra money for air conditioning than get heat stroke.

cute. I love everything about your outfit.

@andysigdelt@xanga - I picked it up in the garment district here in New York, but I did see something similar at Forever 21 recently!

I’ve been doing a lot of light-weight long sleeved outfits. Something that keeps the sun off me but the air can still blow through… it’s like a million degrees cooler!

I’m not much of a fan of orange and yellow, but they look fantastic on you. The clutch really pulls it together. I’m a sundress and sandal kind of girl.

Oi. Try the “sweltering” heat of Las Vegas. It was over 110 today for me.

White summer dresses I can wear without a bra, large light scarves for my neck/chest (cooler and cuter than a jacket, way cuter than a sunscreen sheen; I tend to gravitate toward Pashminas), short shorts, Chuck Taylors (go with everything, light enough to walk around in all day without getting hot), tank-tops. I really want to get some cute sandals with ankle straps because I can’t stand how flip-flops make my feet feel after walking for a while and I want something cooler than shoes and socks, and I’m going to start a thrifting hunt for off-the-shoulder looser tee shirts. And more dresses, so I can only wear dresses as often as the weather allows it!

@MiaJoyTheWriter@xanga - Loved everything about this! You’ve inspired me to break out my converses—they really do go with just about anything. And I love scouring through thrift stores to find vintage tees, they’re not as cool these days lol.

@MahJongMonkey@xanga - Yikes! It felt 110 in NYC the other day. Please do share, what do you wear in such heat? Is it just me, or is it super hard to try to look “cute” and presentable when it’s a million degrees outside?

@babybug329@xanga - Thanks so much! I only recently became obsessed with this color, and let me tell you girl – it makes my ghost-like self look so much tanner. Can always use some of that

@raspbxrrryjam@xanga - Will definitely have to try that! Thinking of breaking out my long sleeve polka dot sheer blouse for an outfit post soon.. stay tuned for that! xx

NYC isn’t hot. When I lived in Arizona it was 110 in the summer for a few weeks.
