Nothing’s better than a steamy cheeseburger hot off the backyard grill and cooked by dad in the summer, nor the long-awaited dessert baked by mom that we all overindulge in after the feast. There’s something about eating barbecued food in the summer followed by delicious desserts that brings me back to childhood. So this summer season, why not combine my two favorites into one creative treat to maximize this summer’s festivities?
I discovered these adorable goodies on Pinterest yesterday and immediately fell in love. It looks like they’d be hard work to put together and would require lots of patience and a steady hand, but the challenge looks so worth it. I am invited to a summer birthday party this Friday, and these summery cupcakes put me in the mood to experiment with frosting and candies.
Knowing me, the process will probably be an all day project, but with the help of my sisters, it could be a really fun opportunity to try my hand at barbecuing on a cupcake top.

They look really cute, but I have a problem with food that’s pretending to be something else. Seeing a steak makes me want a steak, I’d feel so cheated with these.

I think the designs are cute, really are perfect for summer gatherings, but it is unlikely one will find me in the kitchen making these intricate treats when people scarf them down in 2 bites.
