Have you wished you could fly? Or maybe even levitate? I’ve seen David Blaine do it, so it must be possible…right? Sometimes when I have a bad day, I wish for gravity to let go of the grasp it has on me, so I can just float away. Much like Jenny from Forrest Gump, I find myself thinking (in so many words) “Dear God, make me a bird, so I can fly far far away from here.”
I get the feeling that photographer Natsumi Hayashi has felt the same way. She has taken dozens of self portraits where she appears to be levitating. She takes multiple shots with a slow shutter speed of herself jumping, until she gets the one that looks as if she is floating effortlessly above the world. The concept is brilliant, beautiful and mind-boggling.
Here are some of Natsumi’s wonderful levitation photos.

“How sad is the bird with wings that cannot fly. He sings all day about freedom from his perch within a cage.”

I love these. I wonder what kinda f-stop, shutter speed and camera was used.
@TulleSkirts@xanga - ahhhh awesome! i’m so excited to try this!!

It would have to be a very fast shutter speed, not a slow one.

slow shutter?? I don’t think that’s right.

It’s very cool, I just kinda wish she’d change pose once in a while.
