I’m not surprised at all, but what DOES surprise me is that they stayed this long together.

This is so sad because I thought they would last forever.

Yes I am sappy but I came back from a wedding!

I do hope Suri will still be loved by them both. She deserves both parents who are willing to be in her life.

I’m not surprised at the news.  They seem like a very unlikely couple…I’m more surprised at the fact of how long they stayed married.

Doesn’t matter.  The fact that Anna Paquin is having twins shattered my hope for having a better future.  I just fear the wrath that Xenu will have because we sat idly by and let this happen.

I want to know what’s promised in her prenuptual agreement. What does she get for staying with him for 6 years without having another child?  It was made public some time ago, but I forgot where I read it.

Sole custody? How much you wanna bet its because of his weird Scientology religion. I bet they had totally different views about raising that little girl.

I think it is because of his weird Scientology that this is happening and he seem to be a controlling person. Isn’t that what he did for Nicole Kidman. She was blind sided by his divorce.

In all seriousness, I’m surprised they lasted this long. Tom always seemed more excited/pushy about the relationship. And Katie’s career hasn’t been all that great since she married him. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I think Scientology played a part too. Nicole has always been successful but even more do after she divorced Tom & she’s happy with her daughters & Keith. I think there was a reason Tom & Nicole never had biological kids.

omg i like tom cruise ..he is such a hunk…and he was SO IN LOVE with her…too bad ..although i never liked them together so im happy but its sad cause they obvs did at one point….so i guess goodluck to them…i liked tom cuirse and nicoke kidman so much better

I didn’t even realize they were married; I thought they were just living together and I thought, “how can they get divorced if they’re not even married?” 

I’m happy to hear this. She deserves to be with an actual straight man.

I think there is only so long one can stand being married to Tom Cruise. His personality just seems like it would wear someone down after awhile.

@silver_raindropz@xanga - That’s true. I heard Katie wanted Suri to grow up a normal girl. Enroll her in school with other kids. Whereas Tom wanted to shelter her with not much discipline. Hello? Kids need discipline in order to grow up knowing their limits and how to be a good person.

I do feel bad for Tom though. I mean isn’t this his 3rd divorce by age 50? What is weird is all his ex-wives separated from him when they reached age 33. I guess 33 is his bad luck number lol.

I feel bad for Katie.  I remember when they got married.  She was excited and thought it funny that when she was growing up she always dreamed about marrying Tom Cruise.  She also didn’t believe in divorce.  Now she filed for one.  Kinda crazy, but not surprised.  He’s off his rocker.
