YouTube user NikkieTutorials is one of the most watched makeup instructors on the site, and has raked in over 25 million views. But this particular video of hers goes far beyond the expected with a violent ending and serious message. You can watch it after the cut.
Several PSAs have convinced me to not text and drive, and now I have a good reason to avoid applying that one last coat of mascara in the car. The way I see it, if you’re driving, that’s all you should be doing. Little things like makeup and texts can wait until you’re safely parked. [via Jezebel]
What do you think of this PSA?

I’d been warned…but I still jumped when it actually happened!

@EccentricSiren@xanga - same here. i probably shouldn’t have had the volume on my laptop all the way up .__.

Shocking, but not relevant. I like the ones where they are driving and you’re wondering what product they are trying to sell and BAM! Car accident.

holy fuk lol that is all

Anyone who texts and drives, puts on make-up and drives, eats and drives, etc. deserves to get hit. Hopefully they get hit hard enough that they can’t drive anymore so they don’t hurt anyone else on the road.

i jumped about a foot off my bed. i shouldn’t have been wearing earphones. holy cow.

That is kind of freakin’ awesome. I wonder what it was like to experience that for someone who just watches her videos regularly.

@gettin_skinnay@xanga - that’s pretty damn harsh. I hope your loved ones don’t get into a serious accident.

OH GOD MY SKIN IS NO LONGER A PART OF ME D:

@gettin_skinnay@xanga - The only problem with that statement is that, they are rarely the ones that get hit. They are the hitters, and like drunk driving, they are the least likely to get injured or killed. That is because they aren’t aware of the oncoming collision and are therefore relaxed. When you tense up for a collision you’re more likely to get injured. Also no one deserves to die or get seriously injured, especially crippled. That’s crossing the line.

@Katy326 - I agree, usually the persons eating, texting/calling, reading, shaving, beautifying, etc are the ones hitting others because they are distracted.
This PSA doesn’t change anything for me because I know better than to be applying makeup while driving. I can barely even put on nude lip gloss as the passenger while my husband is driving let alone trying to do my makeup while driving.

@EccentricSiren@xanga - Ditto. I had my earphones in, and my boyfriend was across the room… he laughed so hard when I told him I’d even been warned it would scare the crap out of me… ><
But anyway, I don’t drive, so this has nothing to do with me, but I would never be dumb enough to put on makeup while driving. Or do anything else, for that matter.

That’s a pretty serious and very important message for all the ladies out there, please heed it.
You should never apply any type of make up whist behind the wheel of a car.

That scared the crap out of me! I had no idea what was going on… I was like “she’s in her house… what could possibly happen..?”
guest
I’ve never understood putting makeup on while driving.
guest
lmao I’m like, “When is she getting in the car? I don’t get it. What’s going to happen? This is dumb.. OH SHIT WTF.” Anyway, the most distracted driving I do is changing the song while driving. I feel texting or putting make up on & driving is stupid- if you can’t do it & walk, don’t do it & drive.
guest
@gettin_skinnay@xanga - No one deserves to get hit :/

First of all, I almost spilled my coffee all over my computer. So, very effective. But also, I have never ever even considered applying makeup while driving. I just don’t get how anyone can think that they can do this.
guest
lolwut. anyway… it’s common sense for people not to text and drive, drink and drive, eat and drive, and apply makeup and drive. but people do it anyway.

@erotyka@xanga - Hahha same here! I didn’t even have my volume up loud and I jumped!

Incredible, so brilliant. I’ve seen so many careless women paint their nails, fix hair, put on makeup while driving.. just pay attention.
guest
wow! I jumped, i never jump…anyway this needs to be played on every single TV..
