It seems so innocent, walking up to a counter and ordering a drink. It’s in a cup, it can’t be that bad, can it? Well, for most of us ladies functioning on a recommended daily calorie intake of less than 2,000 calories, consuming one of these drinks could put you over the limit faster than you might think. Some of these drinks are definitely easily distinguished as “desserts” but others could fool you into thinking you stopped in for a cup of iced coffee. Take a look at 10 of most fattening beverage options available on American fast food menus, below.
For me, a little indulgence is crucial sometimes. You can’t deny yourself all the delicious things in the world just for the sake of your figure — or at least I can’t. And I appreciate the new wave of fast food chains making an effort to advertise the use of “real ingredients.” But after seeing these facts, it’s pretty evident to me that even when I’m indulging these drinks just don’t come in small enough sizes to fit into my normal diet. Once again, everything comes down to portion size, and it seems many fast food chains just don’t take that notion into consideration.
