In the land of Lovelyish, we love featuring the Disney princesses in all their glory. Their images have been re-imagined by a multitude of artists, with sets ranging from kick-a$s heroines to traditional tattoo designs. Now I have managed to unearth a completely different set of modernized princesses from the mind of a Finnish designer. The artist has digitally designed the leading ladies of Disney in realistic and human-like form.
The popularity of remodeling our favorite childhood characters can stem from early stages of illustration. When I was a wee lass, I spent a good deal of my free time drawing and sketching figures I admired from the big screen or VHS tapes. The curvature of Ariel’s mermaid fin was always tricky to perfect! Obviously, the images composed by Jirka Väätäinen are better than the doodles I hid in my kindergarten cubby.
And although she is far from a princess, can we take a moment to gawk at this sinister interpretation of Ursula? Great, Jirka. You have given me one more reason to love the octopus witch. She rules all.

What do you think of these real life princesses? Which princess is your favorite?

I think y’all have posted this before. Rapunzel looks like Amanda Seyfried to me.

Nice art!
@WaitingToShrug@xanga - She does, doesn’t she? A few others look like certain celebs: Tia Carrere as Pocahontas and Kim Kardashian as Princess Jasmine.

@WaitingToShrug@xanga - There are many re-imaginated Disney princesses on Lovelyish that I certainly had to do my research. Turns out we have featured Jasmine solely, but not the entire set.
Also, Rapunzel reminds me of Dakota Fanning!

Cinderella looks like Diana Agron to me.

@leslie - I knew something looked familiar. Hey, since I’ve got the attention of one of the Lovelyish team, can I take this opportunity to ask you personally why the click-through photo galleries are still being used? A lot of us hate them. I’ve skipped posts that I would have otherwise read because they are annoying. I like Lovelyish, obviously, but it seems that the readers are being ignored.

that’s pretty cool!

I agree with most of the comparisons mentioned. It makes me wonder if they were drawn with any inspirations from real people. Regardless, you know you did a good job when people can say your drawings remind them of celebrities.

Jasmine looks like Nicole Scherzinger to me. And Rapunzel – Amanda Seyfried.
I would totally put these up all over my house if I had the money.
