No matter where I go, I always seem to pack way too many clothes. I have this fear that if I don’t pack a certain shirt or dress when I go on vacation or back to school, I’ll always want to wear that exact item on the first day that I don’t have it. After a lifetime of over-packing, I’ve had enough. This summer, I’m cleaning out my closet for a wardrobe makeover. The first thing on my fashion to-do list? Stock up on essentials!
There are certain styles of clothing, shoes, and accessories that will never go out of style. If you buy these fashion essentials well-made, they are also likely to last a number of years. After I graduate next May, I know that it will be more important for me to own a few quality, classic clothing pieces, instead of the many impulse buys that currently line the walls of my closet. Although it may make a bit of a dent in my wallet, I know that investing in these few items now will eventually pay off in the future. So, now time for the all-important question: Which clothing pieces are worth the investment, and which should be pushed to the side? Check out the gallery for a list of timeless fashion staples that every girl should own.
Do you Lovelies agree with this list? Is there an article of clothing in your closet that you just can’t live without? Share your thoughts!

I’m gonna go ahead and say I have only 4 of those items! don’t really agree with the “fun dress” though since it’s not exactly versatile. I do think the white T should go on there too!

@cheeriomix@xanga - I think the white t-shirt should replace the striped shirt, my chest distorts the stripes on shirts
plus I think a good pair of jeans is essential, not necessarily SKINNY jeans, I have never liked how I looked in skinnies compared to a nice bootcut flare

not going to lie, i was expecting this post to literally be about staples.

I love simple striped shirts, I would usually wear my FCUK nautical shirt.
I think the sparkly dress with an ambiguous back wouldn’t be too practical, plus it can get outdated within a few years.

I would add a good quality A-line or pencil skirt in black, navy blue, or gray, as well as black tailored trousers, and a button down dress shirt that compliments your skin tone.
