I never gave a lot of thought to the term “royal icing” before. But then I found myself browsing the fashion — not of Duchess Kate — but of Queen Elizabeth II herself, and noticed that her majesty pretty much always looks like a sweet confection of some kind. So in honor of her Jubilee (and just because it’s fun), here are 10 cupcakes that look like some of Queen Elizabeth’s outfits over the years.
The Queen always dons green for her visits to Ireland. She’s surely a powerful woman whose clout packs a punch, but we’ll never know her personally, so it’s much more fun to think of her as this very pretty cupcake. Erm… I know that YOU (the author) probably didn’t do this… but the cupcakes in NO WAY resemble the queen of England.XD
They were INSPIRED by the queen of England.

and the title is truncated for the sake of efficiency, but i do make the point in the opening to specify: “here are 10 cupcakes that look like some of Queen Elizabeth’s outfits over the years.” sorry for any confusion!

I love all the designs! However, I would not say that the Elmo one was inspired by the Queen.
