Sixteen years ago my pre-teen mind was blown by the single “Wannabe” by the Brit-pop sensation the Spice Girls. This week the fabulous five reunited to unveil the stage for the new musical based on their music entitled, “Viva Forever.” But the best part is that the pop stars, who have since taken divergent roads in life, posed for photos looking amazing. Take a look at these gorgeous ladies then and now below.
No platforms or vinyl dresses here, although I have to admit I miss them a little. I love how Posh is maintaining her signature mannequin pose even with her old pop cronies. What a princess. Anywho, it goes without saying that I can’t mention their music without offering up some nostalgia. Here are the videos for “Wannabe” and “Say You’ll Be There.”
Ah, Posh in that cat suit. Priceless. I love those videos so much.
The setting of the “Wannabe” video is the Picadilly Theater in London, which happens to be the current-day venue for their musical, so the group really has come full circle. Take a look at these gorgeous ladies then and now in the gallery! [via Celebuzz]
Were you a fan of the Spice Girls?

I remember not really liking their music that much but adoring their wardrobe.

Ahhh ginger spice <3 I was devastated when she left.
Yeah man I loved the spice girls, I can remember a couple of birthday parties where the only music playing in the background were the spice girls and backstreet boys.
Ahh nostalgia…

I think the title needs to be fixed to say “The Spice Girls are back and they are Older than Ever.”

Everyone looks so close and cozy, and then there`s Victoria.. hmm.

@IonaLoire@xanga - LOL truth!
they look older for sure but I think they aged pretty well. definitely not as hot as before!

The Spice Girls were my obession growing up! They all look great <3 Geri looks better than ever!

I take it Lovelyish is going to continue to ignore user requests to stop doing photo galleries that you have to click through?
guest
Victoria always has to ‘stand out’.
guest
Posh does not look happy to be there, haha.
@WaitingToShrug@xanga - Yes, I think they are. I don’t understand why they are necessary. What is it, an effort to get more site clicks out of everyone? I guess it doesn’t matter to me, I stopped clicking on them a while ago. :/
guest
@blackspiders@xanga - I’m not sure… I tried that one time, clicking through to see if the site views went up, and it didn’t. I don’t click on most of them either. What’s the point, usually they don’t even have a caption, or the caption takes a full minute or two to show up. And who cares enough about the Spice Girls to click through?
guest
@blackspiders@xanga - I just looked at the list of posts down below… the biggie has, oh wow, 15 whole comments. I think Lovelyish is dying.
guest
@WaitingToShrug@xanga - it’s dying because they ignore our requests to go back to how some things used to be. And there are no good discussion posts anymore – I feel it’s all memes, ripped posts from other sites and how to paint your nails.
guest
yes! I thought I was the only one that hate the little click through gallery.. I rather just to scroll down!
I love the spice girls growing up. I would like to see the musical

I loved the Spice Girls when I was a kid.

Buhahaha, I still remember the words to both of those songs!

Emma Bunton still looks the same. She’s cute as.
guest
*tear* I miss my childhood.

Mel C looks so weird since she’s so.. un-sporty now. Posh is the same as ever, just thinner and posh-ier.
guest
@daydreams_nightmares@xanga - Yep, you’re right. The good thing about the memes though, is that the print is big enough to where you don’t have to click on the pictures and go through the entire gallery to know what they say.
guest
They are not spice girls anymore.. they are spice lost old ladies now…you know part of the old saying.. They are like Siberia, everyone knows where it is, but no one wants to go there.
guest
I’ve been a fan since I was 7. I was happy to see them together again.

looved them
