Some girls decorate their bedroom walls with movie posters or photos of friends and family. While I have my own fair share of candid pictures, my walls are also adorned with a unique form of handmade decoration – my little sister’s artwork. She re-created this Lady Gaga CD cover for my apartment during my sophomore year of college. The white spots on Gaga’s glasses are actually about a hundred tiny rhinestones, which give the picture a great 3D effect. This is just one of many of her fun, creative paintings. 

Claire draws and paints a great deal in her spare time, having been interested in art from a young age. More than once, I have come home to a kitchen that has been temporarily converted into her workstation. She paints whatever happens to be capturing her interest at the time, whether it is a still from Titanic, a cute life quote, or Lil Wayne rapping onstage at Bamboozle. I love hanging her work; it looks so cool and always sparks conversation when people come to visit. Since a lot of her paintings stay at home, though, not many people can see them. I thought I’d share some of my current favorites with Lovelyish!
