Ok, so maybe Katy Perry tried it first a few years ago. And maybe I got the inspiration flipping through this month’s Cosmopolitan, but I love the idea of ‘sprinkle nails!’ That may also be because I have an unhealthy obsession with sprinkles – they really are the yummiest part of an ice cream cone!
While some people may opt to use actual sprinkles or nonpareils, I would rather my manicure last more than until my next hand washing. That’s why I suggest going to your local craft store and finding small beads or small appliques that could double as sprinkles and give you the same sweet effect.
The steps are simple:
1. Paint your nails a base coat. I suggest a light pink such as Essie’s Ballet Slippers. You don’t want a bright color that would wash out the rainbow of the sprinkles. This need not apply if you are only focusing on a single color of sprinkle.
2. After the base coat dries, apply top coat to each individual nail. After coating a nail, place it on a plate or flat surface full of your sprinkles or beads, allowing them to coat the entire nail. Make sure to do this nail by nail or the polish will dry too quickly.
3. Shake off any excess, and enjoy your fabulously delicious nails!
For a snazzy twist with a cherry on top, I especially love the idea of varying polish and sprinkles every other nail. These look awesome!
Would you try sprinkle nail designs? What other funky nail trends are you loving this season?

I don’t like this at all.

I did this for the first time in 2007.
Looks like I’m way ahead of the times….

not my cup of tea… i’d never want to touch anything for fear of them falling off, even though it’s inevitable. and once some of the sprinkles do fall off it starts to look bad. this would only be good for a few hours, if feel.

these look really quirky and pretty but I guess you need to have the personality to pull it off

It’s adorable! I’d do it for Halloween or one day at school to just have fun. I’d also keep a bottle of topcoat with me all day lol

Those are really cute! I wonder if they’d hold up for longer than a day or two though… once my manicure starts to chip it annoys me until I pick or scrub the design off
