So last week in this post I brought you guys into my new home for the first time to introduce my “Home Improvement” series, documenting my home decor journey. I started with the fireplace area and just had a few things laid out. I’m now officially finished with this section of my room! Take a look:
I decided to turn my fireplace into an extension of my closet since I don’t have as much storage space in this new room. So instead of using the mantle for pictures, I decorated it with my favorite accessories, fragrances, and nail lacquers.
I designated a section of the mantle for my favorite nail colors this season. In the fall, I’ll switch these neons out for deep jewel tones and neutrals.
I found these really gorgeous tree-like jewelry holders at Marshall’s. I’m using them to display all my favorite baubles.

i like it, its so organized, the minute i do this to my desser it still gets messy by the next day!

I suppose there are many furniture around the house that can do with
some innovation like yours. The extension of your closet could even be
furniture stacked on top of one another to create a Tim Burton-like
shelf or a window sill can be creatively used as storage space – just be
careful of pilfering hands! Kudos to you for being able to
systematically arrange your items in such a small space. Interestingly
enough, your items add to part of the whimsicality.
