While most stars reserve their knockout looks for the Oscars or Cannes, there’s plenty of couture to go around awards events. The Critics’ Choice Awards Ceremony was held on Monday night, and it honored the best television work of the year. Julianne Moore, who won an award for her performance in Game Change, can do no wrong in my eyes. The dress she wore is simple, but also perfect for a classy Hollywood leading lady. And though it may be somewhat understated, the gown still makes her best features stand out.

Alison Brie also looks good, even though she is wearing the faux sheer look that so many stars have donned this year. It’s a trend I do like (even if we’ve seen it all over), and Brie manages to avoid making it look scandalous. Her hair is also absolutely perfect, and adds a bit of a retro vibe to the contemporary ensemble.
