Katy Perry is known for her bold fashion choices, and it was no different at Sunday’s MuchMusic Video Awards 2012, when the singer donned a nude bodysuit and butterfly wings to perform “Wide Awake.” But unlike the rest of the show, when she sported a black gown and then a pant suit sort of deal, Perry decided to ditch the wings and accept her award for Best International Artist. Think her bodysuit was too sheer? So did she. Check out the pics after the cut.
Luckily her award served as a sort of pseudo censor bar to cover the lady parts she didn’t want the audience to see. It’s too bad she was only presented one award, in that case. But, as Katy Perry does, she owned it better than anyone else could have done.

It appears that she is wearing a body shaper underneath the bodysuit that I would say covers at least as much as a typical bathing suit would. In general, I am not a fan of the nude bodysuit look. I didn’t like it when Jennifer Lopez wore it or Britney Spears or Lady Gaga… For the performance, I suppose it is okay, but she could have pulled some dress over it to accept her award.

It really isn’t that much different than then Britney and Jennifer Lopez wore very similar nude looks with rhinestones. She looks good, but sorry, Britney did it better. She has an opaque bodysuit underneath so it is not like anyone could see anything. The picture just happened to be taken when she was holding the award behind her back. I could see making a big deal if she did not have the opaque bodysuit underneath. That would be something to talk about.
ETA: I forgot…Lady Gaga wore it as well. The look is getting tired.

The nude bodysuit with the sparkles coming from the vagina looks weird. HEY, SPARKLES EXPLODING FROM MY VAGINAAAA… that’s the first thing that comes to mind when I see it haha.
And the butterfly wings look weird to me, but that could be because I don’t really like butterfly stuff.

The bodysuit was for her performance, and she said it herself when accepting the award “If I would have known I was winning an award after I performed I would have put more clothes on” So obviously she wasn’t expecting it. And yes its covering her enough, but I think she was also kind of joking about trying to cover up more.
