Most of us are familiar with Banksy, the British street artist whose pieces tend to be political and controversial. Well now we Americans have our own more lighthearted version of the artist, called Hanksy. His first pieces of graffiti involved plastering Tom Hanks’ face all over cities, but now he’s expanded his portfolio into more detailed pieces with different celebrities. I’m disappointed in Hanksy’s lack of originality. I think he’s boring and unprovocative, not lighthearted and refreshing. Smacks of Mr. Brainwash.
